According to the previous weather forecast - they did a
good job of saying a wet and cool spring.  "We thought
that it was going to be different, a little but still wet and
cool, HOWEVER, we have had a few good days, just
enough to get us excited and then.......rain.
So far fruit trees look like a pretty good crop, some
pollination issues but in general, good pollination.
Cole crops doing OK, but the warm season crops... still
soil temps nearing 60 but with temps eve 45- 60 day time
it is tough to get good soil temps to raise w/o black plastic,
tarping or cool frame and hoop houses.  Time to put up
"pop ups" in the garden.

Weather still up an down.
Better weather looking to next week, 45 eve
and 60 day time so a bit warmer, but the wet
weather will continue to create diseases but
it will slow down the insects.
Anyone with warm season veges in yet?

Apple scab, EFB.  The next week is going to be cool and
wet according to the weather forecast.
Small greenhouses or plastic to keep water
off the soil is REALLY looking like a good idea.
Good time for planting cole crops, lettuce,
and most transplants. Temps 45-65 is still
pretty cold.
For cherry tomatoes - cover with plastic
or use walls of water , or black plastic for
added warmth, or even lots of full milk jugs.

Wetness and warm weather bring
 on the various diseases
-be aware.  Especially with pear, apple
and strawberry blooming time.
Good air circulation, resistant varieties
 or chemical protections.

I see a lot of international visits.  Welcome.

I would be interested in knowing where you
are from and how you found this Blog?

More weather and ....

Wow, a whole new blogger set up, hope
this works now that it has changed greatly.

Grrrrrr, Change is a pain.

Weather is up and down some more, 45-65
degrees, not much good other than for the cole
crops that hopefully got out in this past weekend.
Keep the lawn mowed, it is just going crazy with
the spring temps and rain.

Maybe time to put down plastic or tarps on the
garden to get some dry soil.

The Master Garden spring plant sale was a big
success - thanks to all who volunteered and
bought great plants.

Till,till, till
Plant, plant, plant
Beets are doing good.
Garlic - the best I have seen in years.
Good bloom will have to wait to see about pollination.
Peas now ding well with the sunny weather.

Control the lesser celandine.
Lawns growing crazy.

Great weekend

Apples blooming.
Pears and cherries full bloom.
Prunes - near done blooming.
McKenzie River valley - about 5 days behind.
Bend - about one and half weeks behind the valley.
Plant away during this good weather, at least
the cole crops. Soil temps still cool for warm
season without some protective covering.
