Plum, peach and quince blooms
are really pushing.
Get the copper or lime sulfur spray on ASAP.
Then a couple days later, put on
the dormant oil to smother mites,
scale, aphids.

All plant signs point to spring coming
even tho it is February 27th.

Here it is Feb. 17 and the weather has
been pretty good.  We need to wait until
around March 15 before we start to plant.
Patience --- patience.

Continue to weed the growing beds.
Keep the lawn mowed.
Day temps are above 50 so we are
gaining on positive degree days.

Control mow in lawns and on the roof.

Blueberries, peaches and plums
have very expanded fruit buds.

Weather is leaning toward time to work outside.
Finish pruning, clean up pruning sticks.
Lawns still in a rest stage but not
     for much longer.
Get weed sunder control in the garden and raised beds.
Chard still doing well.
Start indoor seedlings in the next
month.   Take a trip to the nearby ski hills.
Visit  warmer climate, spring is coming soon!

Weather is getting better.
Still need to kind of wait until
after Feb.15th to plant.
To start indoor/transplants plants,
plant about 45 days
before they need to go outside.  Remember
however that the last three years it has
been July before we could plant outside.

After mowing n November, the lawn
still does not need mowing but check weekly.

Weather above 50 degrees, we gain degree days.
Everyday above 50 degrees F.,brings us closer
to plants starting to grown aggressively again.

Garlic up over 7 inches, flower bulbs up 2-3
inches.  Leafy cole crops still doing fine.

The lawns look like they have slowed
down or even had some damage.  My front
lawn was almost ready to mow in early
January, now the lawn is shorter.....some
freeze damage.

Water plants in greenhouses or under the
house eves.

Continue to control weeds in garden and
raised beds.

Control moss on the roof.
